WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING ABOUT HIS CONFESSION:

His Confession was a surprisingly engaging read with believable characters who were

easy to connect with.It dealt with subjects a little different to what I'm used to, but the author did a great job of pulling me into her world.” - Mia Hoddell, YA/NA author.

”His Confession pulled me through from the first paragraph! The enigmatic Darion practically leapt off the pages and I could picture his every move and facial expression clear as day in my head! This story is definitely one to add to your “want-to-read” list-especially if you love a captivating plot as well as scenes so hot that they fog up your glasses. I don’t want to say too much and spoil it for future readers but DARION and GABI put Christian and Ana to SHAME! Enough said. LOL.”  - Kiarra M. Taylor, contemporary romance author of THE QUARTER CHANGE.

”I loved it and I'm excited to read more to find out what happens. Darion is a great guy who was hurt badly and doesn't know how to handle, which in steps Gabi. Love love love her! Hopefully she fights for him! When does the next book come out, as I'm dying to know what comes next! I also hope the girls get their own stories.”  - Susan Flynn, Beta reader Writers club.

”S. Valentine does an exquisite job at creating a dynamic between two characters, both from different worlds, that goes beyond a physical attraction.
His Confession is book one in The Black Door Trilogy. It is a fast paced story that is full of hotness and anticipation that heats you up from your head to your toes. Gabi, is tired of always playing it safe. Darion, has demons that he can no longer control.
When these two get together, boundaries are pushed, control is tested and emotions run wild.”  - AV. Scott, author of High Heels & New York.

A brilliant book which leaves you wondering what happened in Darion's past that has left him so wary and so afraid to put himself and his heart out there not to mention to put his faith and trust in Gabi, the one woman whose managed to penetrate the walls he's built.
I can't wait for book 2 and I'm hoping that Darion and Gabi can overcome the obstacles that stand in front of them, including Eva, Darion's ex wife.”  - Rebecca Barber, author Nobody's Obligation.

Fix You by Carrie Elks

I would like to thank the publisher, Corvus, for a copy of this book in return for my review.

This is the third time that I have sat down to write this review.  No matter what I have written in my past two attempts, I just couldn't do justice to this fantastic book.

Fix you is set over twenty one years, it starts in 1999 and finishes in 2021.  The book starts on New Years Eve 1999, the night that Hannah stood in to help her mother cater a party, the night that Hannah also met Richard for the first time.  Fast Forward to 12 May 2012, Hannah walks into Richard's New York to tell him that they have a son together.  But after everything that has happened between Hannah and Richard in the past, can they put it all behind them and realise that they are destined to be together.  However, this only happen if Richard is willing to forgive Hannah, and he's not sure that he's ready to do that.

I will start by saying that this book is absolutely incredible.  Every last page of it has a little bit of sparkle.  Before this book came in through my letter box, I had no idea who Carrie Elks was, but the minute tat I read the blurb I knew that this was my kind of book.  I read it over two days and I can't believe how talented and adept Carrie Elks is.  Fix You simply blew me away.

I loved how the story moved through the years, making this book a easy read.  I loved how heart stopping and awe inspiring the story was.  At times I was so frustrated by what was happening, which was a sure sign that I had fallen in love with both the characters of Richard and Hannah.  Two characters have never had such an effect me before and I will find it very hard to find two who will move me as much ever again.

Fix You had great chemistry and is such a moving story.  I cried tears of sadness and tears of joy while reading this, sometimes this even happened on the same page.  Carrie Elks has left such a lasting impression on my with Fix You and I know that these characters will stay with me for a long time to come.

Fix You is utterly captivating and so eloquently written.  Carrie Elks has talent coming out of every pore and you can tell that her heart and soul went into writing this book.  I was upset that this book had to end.  It's not very often that a book will affect you, like this one has done to me.  I can't praise the author enough.  I would give this book ten stars if I could.  An amazing, awe inspiring read.

5 stars

You and Me, Always by Jill Mansell

I would like to thank the publisher, Headline, for giving me a review copy of this book in turn for my review.

It's Lily's twenty-fifth birthday and she starts it off the same way that she always does, with a letter from her mother.  This year is different though, as it is the last year that she will receive a letter, because her other died before she got the chance to write any more letters.  Having read the last letter from her mother, Lily goes on a journey of her, meeting people from her mother's past and making new discoveries along the way.

When I read Three Amazing Things About You last year, I fell in love with Jill Mansell.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one, so I was delighted when this arrived through the letterbox.  Prior to reading this, I had been in a hue reading slump, only managing to read about twenty pages before getting bored.  However, the minute I picked this up and opened the first page, I knew that this would be the book that would get me out of the slump and show me why I love reading again.

I adored everything about this book.  The way that the words poured off the page made it a light, easy read.  It made me laugh and being honest, it made me shed a tear or two also.  The characters in You And Me, Always, sparkled like glitter on a sunny day.  Lily may very well be one of the best fictional characters that I have ever read and I adored the character of Patsy.  Even though there are a large number of characters in this book, once you get to know them and their story, it is very easy to follow, as they are all linked in some way.

Jill Mansell has created the most wonderful setting in Stanton Langley.  I adored the fantastic descriptions of the town and the way that the whole community were like one big happy family.

This is only the second book that I have read by Jill, but the two have read have had a lasting effect on me.  I can't wait to get stuck into some more of Jill's earlier books as well as any new release that she will have in the future.  I can't give this book any less than 5 stars and I will be recommending it to absolutely everyone who will listen.

REVIEWS:

‘I love most books on self improvement, or about the interactions and emotions of humans. This book focuses on eradicating hatred, things such as: morals, honor, family values, faith, trust, negativity, frustration, envy, resentment, the culture of hatred and more. From the authors experiences and observations over the past 9 years, he has brought us this book. It really opens your mind, and the way he speaks about mankind being saved from itself by stopping the hatred is so true. Hatred is the dangerous issue mankind is facing. GREAT BOOK! A MUST-READ!’ – Lifestyleandliterature.wordpress.com

How To Stuff Up Christmas By Rosie Blake

How to Stuff up Christmas by Rosie Blake

Last Christmas Eve was the happiest girl in the world, her gorgeous boyfriend Liam had just proposed and she was living on cloud nine. Now, Christmas is rolling around again and Eve is dreading having to spend Christmas single, after discovering that Liam has cheated on her. Trying her best to be on her own for Christmas, and not have reminders of the events of the previous year, Eve takes herself and her dog Marmite, and moves into a houseboat and takes pottery lessons. While she is on this break, she runs into the towns hunky vet, Greg, and together they embark on a quest to make Eve a Culinary Queen. But then Greg starts to disappear regularly and eve’s best friend, Daisy, knows more than she is letting on. Eve has to try to get her life back on track and put Liam’s actions behind her.

How to Stuff up Christmas has all the ingredients for the perfect Christmas book. It’s funny and light-hearted and is perfect for getting you in the festive mood. The level of humour in this book is brilliant and there is a laugh on every page. From the word go, I was giggling quietly, and sometimes not so quietly to myself.

Throughout the book, we see the same events from the point of views of both Eve and Greg. I liked this and I think it is a nice touch. Although when I put it down for a few hours and picked it up again a few hours later, I had a sense of déjà vu, when I picked up on an event from the second point of view. Every single character in this book were likeable and Eve’s mother never failed but to make me laugh out loud.

How to Stuff Up Christmas is a witty and heart-warming story. Funny from the very first sentence. This is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud and will definitely get you in the mood for Christmas. After reading How To Get A (Love) Life, I expected great things from this novel and I was not disappointed.
